How is it possible we’ve made it to Thanksgiving already? We celebrated Thanksgiving this year at home, with a winter storm on the horizon. By Thursday evening, the snow started coming down and it hasn’t stopped. As I write this, we’re into December (December 1,2024), and the snow is still coming down.
I measured about 17 or 18 inches earlier today, and towns near us got over 2 feet! There is still more to come. I’ll share a few photos below, but this is life in the snowbelt. We are staying home for now, staying safe until at least the worst of it passes. It looks so pretty though!

Health Updates:
Ben:
As we’ve mentioned before, Ben’s peripheral neuropathy continues to spread. It’s in his hands now, and he doesn’t have a lot of feeling. It’s also getting harder for him to use his hands, especially for fine motor skills. He has good days and bad days, not only physically, but with his mental health as well. Being in near constant pain takes a toll on anyone. We hope to eventually get answers, but we’ve seen so many different doctors and tried so many different things, sometimes it seems like the answers are a long way off.
Cindy:
There isn’t a lot to update for me. Winters are always harder for both of us, and with the snow setting in, it makes getting out a little harder, but I hope to get some snowshoeing in sometime soon! The cold is still painful, which limits time outside, but it has gotten a little bit better than it was right after the accident.
November Adventures:
We did manage to get some adventures in before the snow hit. A few photos:

Thankfulness!
November is the month when we celebrate all that we have to be thankful. As we enter the month of December, I wanted to take a moment to reflect back on all that we have to be thankful for. Here are 30 things, but there are so many more!
- Jesus
- Our faith
- Salvation
- Family
- Friends
- Our dogs
- Fresh air to breath
- Snow
- Sunrises
- Fresh water to drink
- The ability to read
- Heat
- Great food to eat
- Technology
- Electricity
- Ability to write
- Tools to write with
- Sunsets
- Nature trails
- Christmas Movies
- Sunflowers
- Puffy white clouds
- Wildlife
- Music
- A home to live in
- Project completion
- Time to relax
- Nature
- Online education
- Walks in the great outdoors
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I plan to post again in a couple of weeks or so, as it will be the 4 year Anniversary of the accident, and then I should post again around Christmas and the New Year. It’s hard to believe we’re almost at 2025!
Until next time,
Cindy
