Sometimes it feels like the years just fly by one after another. Perhaps, if the internet is still around 100 years from now, and this blog even still exists, people will read it and get a small glimpse into what life was like during this time. I like to imagine what the world will be like in 100 years, while also thinking about what life was life 100 years ago. Time changes things. It changes all of us in one way or another, and there’s no way to stop it.
Health Updates:
Ben:
Ben continues to deal with the peripheral neuropathy and other health issues, with no known cause. There really isn’t a lot new to update that we haven’t already mentioned before. He was able to get out more this summer, and we’ve been slowly adding our adventures to www.trailsfromnorthcountry.com. I’m excited about the new blog, but am also finding going out to do the adventures, photograph and record them, edit the recordings, write and post the blog, is all just too much in one week. Then school started, and it’s always such a busy time of year, so the blog was put on hold for a bit at least. The posts will be a little more spread out than I originally intended them to be. But it has given us a great reason to get out, and Ben has been able to come on about 1/2 of the adventures.
Cindy:
I finished up physical therapy this summer, and am doing at least some physical therapy exercises most days of the week at home now. For the most part, I am doing pretty well overall. I have good days and bad days, and still have pain, especially when the weather changes, but have continued to get more and more back to where I was before the accident.
Our Adventures:
We live where others vacation. With that, we are able to do a lot of amazing things, as part of our normal week. Here are just a few of the many photos from adventures we’ve had over the summer and into fall.

Speed of Life:
Life never seems to really slow down. One minute, we’re bringing in the New Year. The next, it’s almost the end of October and we’re preparing for winter to set in. A moment later, it’s Christmas and winter is here. Life moves so fast.
There’s a video I’ve seen going around Instagram that talks about how life moves pretty fast, and if you don’t stop to look around once in a while, you’ll miss it. I find this is so true, and the older I get, the faster it seems to move. It feels like it was just spring, and now we’re almost into winter again.
Before the New Year comes, I plan to do an updated posts on my goals from this year and I hope to blog more frequently. It may not seem like it with the gaps between posts, but I’ve actually done better the past few years with blogging than I’ve in a long time, and I’ve been building better habits that are slowly starting to take off. So hopefully I’ll post again before several more months past.
Life moves too quickly. Sometimes, I’ve had people ask why I set goals every year, and honestly that’s part of it, perhaps even one of the biggest reasons I set goals. Life goes too quickly, and at the end of my life, I don’t want to have regrets. So I set goals, and strive to reach them. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t.
I’ve learned a lot over the years thought about setting goals, creating systems, and striving to reach those goals. It helps me to slow down, prioritize, and think about what really matters in life. As part of tracking goals, I do frequent check-ins and I think that makes a difference too. It forces me to stop and reevaluate what I’m doing, not just on a yearly basis, but monthly, weekly and even daily.
Life moves too quickly. The years fly by, and before we know it, decades have gone by. As we get closer to the New Year, I hope you have some time to stop and reflect on what this year has brought, and what you hope next year will bring. The speed of life moves too quickly, and if we aren’t purposeful about where we are going, we’re going to miss it. Not just this life, but what comes after too.
Before we know it, another year will have come and gone. I hope you’ll take some time this week to stop and look around before it’s gone.
Until next time,
Cindy
