Native Plant Gardens
Since we bought our house quite a few years ago, we’ve added many native plant species to our gardens. This time of year, it’s so much fun to see everything starting to come into blossom, and we will continue to have a variety bloom throughout the season. Not everything is a native plant pictured below, but many of them are.
We added several native plants to our garden this year through the local nature centers Native Plant sale. We also have vegetable and herb gardens. Last year, I learned how to dry herbs and grind them, then store to preserve them for cooking. A couple of years ago, I also learned how to make natural dyes from flowers and other plants outside. The more we can grow, the more we’ll be able to add to what we can do with plants. We also added a small greenhouse to expand our growing season.
Where Has The Time Gone?
It’s crazy how fast time goes by! It seems like just yesterday we celebrated Christmas and the New Year, and now here we are in June. It won’t be long before fall will be moving in. I’m hoping to do another post soon, evaluating where I’m at with my January goals and setting goals of where to go from here. More to come!
